Teachers Together offer a commitment to our Partners ensuring the following checks have been completed on every member prior to being supplied.

 

  • Online face-to-face interviews with all our members. Interviews will be carried out by an experienced, trained, and skilled education consultant focusing on safer recruitment practices.

 

  • References; dependent on the history of the member, we commit to securing 5 years employment history checks and a minimum of 2 references in line with REC code of practice. Character references may be used to fulfil this requirement. These will all be kept on file and will ask all the relevant safeguarding and disciplinary questions required to work in education.

 

  • Identification checks; ID checks of documentation specified by the Department of Education (DfE), REC and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

 

  • Qualifications; copies will be held on file of all relevant and in date qualifications.

 

  • Right to work (RTW) checks; RTW checks will be carried out during our compliance process on all members.

 

  • Proof of address (POA); all to be within 3 months and an approved POA.

 

  • Disclosure and Barring Service; all candidates will have a DBS that is portable through the DBS Update Service and able to be checked when necessary. (DBS checks will be done and carried out every year)

 

  • TP (Teachers Pensions) Online check; TP checks will be carried out during our compliance process on all members to ascertain if their details appear on the Barred List, maintained by the DfE. (Checked every year)

 

  • National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) will be checked to identify any referrals or restrictions on any QTS or QTLS members. (Checked every year)
